Melissa has been producing abstracts in oils, acrylics and pastels for some 20 years. Recently, she contributed a piece for an auction in benefit of the September 11, 2001 World Trade Center disaster survivors. It sold above expected value.

She has also created numerous murals to brighten Brooklyn streets and also a line of hats to match virtually every occasion.

Until the middle of 2008, her constant companion was Mr. Chin, her beloved Japanese Chin who never left the apartment except for an occasional walk down West 86th street. May he rest in peace..
